Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 65.3/100, a mean average of 61.9/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 61.9/100. The standard deviation for this album is 18.9.

It is missing something! Oh yeah, electric guitars.
Perdida, the second album released by Stone Temple Pilots since the death of originals singer Scott Weiland, sees the former grunge act move further away from its rock roots and take a position in uncharted territory. Here we are treated with folky tunes, with a sound closer to medieval or oriental songs than anything the band has ever become known for. It's hardly rock and definitely not grunge. Apart from Fare Thee Well, the strong single opener, nothing on the album feels particularly interesting. It's sleepy and lacks variety and imagination. New singer Jeff Gutt isn't given a proper chance to show his skills and the instrumentation leaves a lot to be desired.
Perdida is an attempt from the band to redefine themselves after a change in their lineup, but this misstep is almost too huge to forgive. Indeed, the best songs on the album are those that sound closer to their usual sound rather than those that try to sound like something written by Shakespeare. But even those are bleak and forgettable compared to the band's older material.
A questionable shift at this point in the band's career. Jeff Gutt's voice is very reminiscent of Scott Weiland's, but he isn't as good of a lyricist. Perdida is not something I'd bother listening to again.
