Katy somehow created one of the most iconic pop albums with the most iconic cover ever, most of these songs are pop perfection. I can easily call Teenage Dream the pop bible.
Shortlisted for album of the year at the 2011 Grammys. The winner was The Suburbs by Arcade Fire
Her most enjoyable album. There are some songs that are a total disaster (the most obvious one being "Peacock"), but there are also many moments of simple and catchy pop music. Overall, 60/100.

The first four songs are pretty strong — especially the title track. But then it's a quick and steep decline from fun radio pop to focus-group cliches.

Honestly? It's good. Musically one might call it a fantastic pop record, and they would not be wrong. The politics of the lyrics are of course hard to swallow at times. It's one of those albums that I can't quite tell whether it is brashly feminist and sex-positive, or just shallow, consumerist, and hyper-sexualized. A little bit of both, of course. But goddamn her voice is good, and she knows how to write a melody like not many others.
And hey, if you don't enjoy pop music, why are you over here bagging on it anyway? When people talk about your favorite hard rock album as "just a bunch of screaming," or some analogous criticism, you naturally think to yourself "well they just don't understand this type of music." Its the same thing here, and I can tell you because I woulda rated this a 20/100 probably just one year ago. Now Lorde is in my top 20. It's just an exposure thing. Not an attack, but food for thought.

Sure this is music. Just dont try to tell me its art. Nothing expressive about the album except the skin she flashes on the cover. Utter trash.
One of the most legendary pop albums. Full points should be obvious.
