This album grew on me significantly the further I got into it. I was immediately turned off by the low mixing of the vocals and D'Agostino's not super pleasant voice, but his incredible lyrics blew me away and had me locked in. What storytelling he achieves through these songs, and the musical arrangements he's created match the drama of the songs very well. One of the best albums of the year in terms of songwriting.
