Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 2% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 79.9/100, a mean average of 79.3/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 80.2/100. The standard deviation for this album is 13.9.

A nice step up after Clouds. Great second half, in particular.
A very airy and beautiful album, with many songwriting and song presentation facets.
This album is yet another essential listen in Mitchell's recorded works.
This is the first of here great albums, every song i like on it. The first four songs and the last three are my favourites.
Woodstock is one of the best songs ever, and makes up for what is an kinda average album.
...and we've got to get ourselves back to the gaaaardeeen...

BAD company...til the day I die...
I think Joni had fans.
A solid acoustic album with Joni playing guitar or piano on each track. I don't know what it is about this album but I find it a hard listen I prefer Side 2 (Rainy Night.....Circle Game)the running order of the album might be influencing my decision (the last 3 tracks are the best) so I tended to just play Side 2. The title track and For Free are great songs as is Morning Morgantown but I can live without the rest of Side 1
Another lovely Joni Mitchell album. Ladies of the canyon, sees Mitchell maturing with each record, and this LP features some of her best ever songs. Woodstock, conversation, the circle game, and the title track are all superb. It's all acoustic based, like all her early records, and is consistently excellent all the way through. Amazingly, her next four or five records would be even better.
My favourite Joni Mitchell's Album, "Morning Morgantown", the sad "For Free", the happier "Conversation", "Big Yellow Taxi", "Woodstock".
For those who liked "Blue" and want more, this might be an album you would enjoy. There are many dark and melancholy songs here with gripping lyrics, but none of them have the same high level of personal songwriting.
As close to "Blue"'s perfection as anything but the real thing. This rivals "Court and Spark" as a potential silver-medal Joni album.
