Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 72.2/100, a mean average of 72.1/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 72.1/100. The standard deviation for this album is 10.3.

Great album that is way under-appreciated in 2020. Is this cutting edge? No. But is this straight forward punk rock? Yes, and it does it way better than anyone else in 2020. X will always be one of the greatest punk rock bands, and this album serves as a great intro to their work in the 21st century. Displays the dynamics and chemistry of the band in full stride, showcasing the blue collar musicianship of Billy Zoom, the thunderous rhythms of DJ Bonebrake, the coolness of John Doe, and the poetic weirdness of Exene. Hits hard, and has a surprise guest appearance by Robby Krieger of the Doors at the end (in homage to X's beginnings with Ray Manzarek producing their first 4 albums). Best rock album of 2020, and an essential X album.
