Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 3% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 77.3/100, a mean average of 76.5/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 77.5/100. The standard deviation for this album is 16.0.

Really hook-y punk music; the catchiness and 'room to breathe' makes it stand out from other classic punk releases. I love the use of two contrasting vocalists, it ensures that each song feels unique. Interesting instrumental palette too. It's almost bluesy at times, which can be off-putting (ex: guitar solo on "Johny Hit and Run Paulene"), but I think it contributes to the overall identity of the record as well.

Some great songs here, especially the finale. One of my favorite punk albums.

Dark themes, but good energy. I like the co-ed vocal vibe.

More people need to know about X, finding them is one of the happiest accidents I've ever made. They make punk that breathes contrasting other punk acts that sometimes write songs that feel claustrophobic.

Pillar of the LA Punk Scene. Exene and John Doe are a hell of a combo, and this album is a lot of fun.

Favorite Tracks: Your Phone's off the hook but you're not, Johnny Hit and Run Pauline, Los Angeles, and The World's a Mess; it's in my kiss.

X is a rock band that has brought a lot to punk music. This los angeles band is not very well known. "Los Angeles" is the classic of the band. They make intelligent punk, introspective and sarcastic. Criticizing society with bitterness, The album is sublimated by the voice of the singer Exene Cervenka. Many consider this album as the best punk album of all time. For me, it's a small masterpiece, a little classic that must have listened.

If you could create an album made specifically for a Tony Hawk's Pro Skater game, this would be the result. Love it!
