Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 4% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 76.5/100, a mean average of 76.0/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 76.7/100. The standard deviation for this album is 12.6.

Now you don't care what they say
Nor do I
What a band
A decent album but I can't help but feel it does rip off Joy Division quite a bit
80/100
Glad to hear new post-punk quality albums , the band have potential and i really hope they explode, promising
Some genuine bright spots, but still a little inconsistent. I definitely see potential here though. Highlights: Oh Such a Spring, A Hero's Death
It's good but I'm not overly impressed. Like their debut, there is something missing for me but it is even more apparent this time. I think it's a lack of focused energy. It's not bad by any means, it just isn't anything special to me. I do think it gets better towards the end when they switch up the styles. "I Was Not Born" sounds like a Velvet Underground jam and "Sunny" reminds me a lot of Donovan. I think they have something with the latter.
Brilliant second album
I think this album is better than Dogrel. The songs seem more polished, and I fell in love with Fontaines D.C. the moment I heard I Don't Belong. Although they aren't the most inventive of this resurgence of post-punk/art punk, I do think they crafted a masterful bunch of songs here.
Favorite songs: I Don't Belong, A Hero's Death, A Lucid Dream
I'm mainly annoyed that I don't like this more, because it's millimeters from being an album I would truly adore. The songwriting is just a little not there, and the consistency isn't totally there either.
This feels darker and somehow less evocative than Dogrel, but it makes up for any deficiencies with some killer songwriting and musicianship. Can't wait to hear these ones live!
