Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 11% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 74.7/100, a mean average of 76.2/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 76.2/100. The standard deviation for this album is 7.6.

A very solid live album featuring reworkings of songs off Liam's second solo record as well as a few Oasis classics. Not up there with Nirvana's take on the 'MTV Unplugged' format of course but still a fine effort that would sound great on vinyl

What a most odd release this is or more to the point oddly titled album

I recall fondly the “ MTV UNPLUGGED” concept from their peak in the 1990’s during which artists such as R.E.M, Nirvana, Duran Duran and 10’000 Maniacs just to name a few of my favourites would perform their biggest hits in a stripped back fashion with acoustic guitars, snare drum and quite vocals with the artists mostly sitting on stools surrounded by candles, flowers and an audience of maybe 30 lucky punters who would clap politely between songs in quiet awe. That’s how I recall it any way and recon I was lucky enough to see 50 such performances

Fast forward 25 years and Ol Grumpy Gallagher puts his spin on “Unplugged “ and it’s an interesting take.

Stripped Back Band? Nope try full band and full orchestra

Quite Hushed Vocals? Nope try “ YOU GUYS ARE THE F..ING BOLLOCKS!!!! “

Candles and Fireside Vibe? Nope try cigarette lighters and crowd constantly chanting “LIAM LIAM LIAM !!!”

Crowd of Approximately 30 people? Nope try 30’000

LOL the only thing “Unplugged “ about this album is the brain of the genius who thought they should call this album unplugged
