Even in his mid-50s, Gavin Rossdale still has a great voice. And even if the rest of the songs were rubbish, I still think this album would be worth buying just for "Blood River".

The Bush Sound Is In Perfect Form. Rating (77.50)

I’m a massive fan of early Bush but gave up following the disappointment of 1996’s ‘Razorblade Suitcase’ so I really couldn’t tell you if 2020’s ‘The Kingdom’ is better nor worse than ‘The Science of Things’ (1999) or ‘Golden State’ (2001) or ‘The Sea of Memories’ (2011) or ‘Man on the Run’ (2014) or ‘Black and White Rainbows’. But what I can tell you is ‘The Kingdom’ received good critical reviews and the critics are correct.... mostly
‘The Kingdom’ is actually Bush’s 2nd album to be released in 2020 on the back of ‘Live in Tampa’ a greatest hits package if you will and it was from here I found my way to ‘The Kingdom’ observing a couple of the “new” tracks were pretty good
The album has a kick ass opening salvo with the 1 - 2 - 3 punch of “Flowers On A Grave”, “The Kingdom and “Bullet Holes” then further down we get the excellent “Send In The Clowns” and the suspiciously “Glycerin-esque” “Undone”.
My only complaint would be at 47mins the whole package feels a little long with a couple of out and out stinkers they could have left off (“Ghosts In The Machine” & “Quicksand”
All up not too bad , not too bad at all
Note 1: As I write this 2nd October 2020 this album has been out 77 days and appears in 2 charts !! Mine and LORDMARK’s ( respect bro ) which simply shows how far Bush have fallen from the music publics collective consciousness since the 90’s
Note 2: Bush are British just in case anyone needed reminding
