When I discovered this in fifth grade, I had about a dozen of my own CD's, and I would sometimes like my brother's 30-or-so hard rock albums, but never before had I truly become obsessed with an album.
Sure, I liked Avril a lot before, but this album seemed so much more real. To this day, I consider "Take Me Away" to be one of the greatest album openers ever. It's a real shame that people assume this is just "crappy girly pop". It most certainly isn't.

Also, I just found out that this was produced by the recording engineer of Pearl Jam's Ten. If that doesn't persuade you to stop hating on this album, I don't know what will.

The fact that I had young daughters who listened to this incessantly and the fact that she is a Canuck breakthrough seriously colour my opinion of this. I for one cannot resist Nobody's Home. Do I find pleasure in this? Guilty!

Great post-grunge/alternative rock/nü metal/punk album. Best 10 songs average is 96,2/100 and the album can get great 95/100. This is the sound I like!! Maximum rating: "Together", "My happy ending" and "Nobody's home". Closely followed by "Don't tell me" and "How does it feel" both 95/100 and next "Take me away", "He wasn't" and "Forgotten" all 90/100. Hit on hit until the last song. Can I listen to it one more time, please?!?!
Despite its cheesy lyrics, I still enjoy it overall. It's darker, angrier, and less produced than Let Go. It also feels like Avril had more creative control this time around. "Take Me Away", "Together", "My Happy Ending", "Nobody's Home", and "Forgotten" are still among my favourite A.L. songs.
