Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some artists can have several thousand ratings)
This artist has a Bayesian average rating of 66.2/100, a mean average of 64.1/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 64.1/100. The standard deviation for this artist is 22.7.

Undeniably one of the most iconic and well-loved pop artists of the early 2000s. Instantly recognisable, easy-to-consume pop punky sound, superbly catchy lyrics and tons of nostalgia. Yet despite the heavy nostalgia, her early stuff has aged fantasically.
It's not a coincidence her best albums are chronological from old and highest ranked to new and lowest ranked.
Captured the imagination of teen girls at the right time - I'll give her credit - she was the first major pop-punk girl. But her music is as controlled and contrived as American Idol.
Recently, I just realized something about this chick: She was the first mega-popular pop star to come out before the advent of Itunes, the return of the single, and the rise of autotune. Because of that, you'll see Avril making albums that sound several years in the past. Let Go sounded like The Bends meets Jagged Little Pill, Under My Skin was a post-grunge masterpiece (if there's such a thing), The Best Darn Thing was a 21st century Dookie, and I've heard that Goodbye Lullaby will sound a lot like Coldplay.
