Returning after 7 years with more timeless indie jangle pop with 60s influences. A set of sophisticated songwriting and arrangements. My favourites are probably the two that are written and sung by Francis MacDonald, who is Teenage Fanclub's drummer (and a classical composer as well). 'Silly Boy' is a poignant tale of letting a love slip away by not realising they are the one, and 'Back in Her Heart' which is a sunny song about recovered love. These are followed by a coda in which Francis wakes up from dreaming which suggests that he didn't get her back after all. Another favourite is the up-tempo rocker 'The Road Of Love Is Paved With Banana Skins'. But all the songs are beautiful, I could list them all as favourites.
