London born, Canadian raised, New York residing saxophonist Seamus Blake released his debut album in 1996 on Criss Cross Jazz (Cat#: Criss 1110 CD). The eight songs, composed either by Blake or his bandmate Chris Cheek, are full of groove - but the band really breaks loose on the cover of Louis Prima's "Sing, Sing, Sing. " There is enough here to recommend. Authenticated on discogs.com
