Late in his career pianist/bandleader George Shearing assembled another of his famous quintets, and performed this particular album at the Birdland Jazz Club in New York City. His quintets consisted of vibraphone, guitar, bass, drums and himself on piano. The Vibraphone and guitar would double/triple his piano's lead lines creating what has become known as "The Shearing Sound." Released in 2001 on the Telarc Jazz label (Cat#: CD-83524) this is a fine live performance.
