Pianist George Shearing leads a trio through a live performance of some mostly obscure tunes which accentuate his mastery of a refined soloing technique. Well into his 70s at the time of this recording, Shearing shows he can boogie with the best of them, yet where he really excels is in his interpretation of a ballad's nuances. Released in 1992 on Telarc Jazz label (Cat#: CD-83310) this is an effective glimpse at a master at work.
