Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 3% of albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a mean average rating of 77.0/100. The trimmed mean (excluding outliers) is 78.3/100. The standard deviation for this album is 17.6.

Great choice for album of the day. One of the best albums of the 1990s from one of its best bands.

Really don't understand the hate for this album on this website, the more I look back at the 90s decade for albums, this is one of the few that sticks out the most in terms of classics.

Angel Dust, FNM's magnum opus, is the strongest in its togetherness and consistency. You may find some better tracks on both King For a Day... and The Real Thing but the material on AD feels to be really connected, one track to another. Even though it's not a concept album, you can feel the theatrical elements on nearly every track. Not a common rock/metal listen. And really enjoyable too.

The follow up to, the real thing, Angel dust is even better than it's predecessor. Dispensing with the funk influences, faith no more create something more darker and unsettling. It doesn't sound as dated as, the real thing, and has some fantastic tracks. Land of sunshine, and, caffeine, kick the album off in excellent fashion. This single, midlife crisis, follows, another strong cut, and, RV, is brilliant. Other standouts are, everything's ruined, kindergarten, a small victory, and the wonderfully titled, jizzlobber. Why oh why the record company added the hit single, I'm easy, to the album was crazy, it has absolutely nothing to do with, Angel dust, at all. Angel dust, is Faith no more's best album. Still brilliant today.

One of the darkest albums ever made, yet sonically crafted and assembled the album talks of drugs violence hate sexuality sex genocide. It's all bought here in this fantastic piece. And definitely one of the best 90s albums. Mike patton's vocals along with key songwriting and killer riffs gives this a memorable listening expierience!

What makes this album particularly great is that it's the emergence of Mike Patton's creativity. The record retains some of Faith No More's classic funk-rock sensibility while incorporating some humorous/experimental metal and other elements. I feel this album was as important to 1992 as Kid A was to 2000 (or Dark Side of the Moon was to 1973).

Pummeling, soaring rock anthems with chunky yet tasteful guitar riffage. Mike Patton's vocal dynamics dazzle.
