Count Basie never really liked to draw attention to his piano prowess and this 1992 release on the Classic Jazz label and distributed by Charly Records (Cat#: CDCD 1024) is further evidence of that observation. His solos are brief and concise, giving others in his supporting band/orchestra time to shine. Culled from the late 30s era of his career, these 16 tracks offer a huge glimpse into the swinging side of Basie and his cohorts. Authentic on discogs.com
