Pick a week in the last 50 years, at random. Listen to whatever was number one that week. The week is December 25, 2004. Let's see... Red Light District. Hmm. I've liked some of Ludacris's singles, let's see what a full album is like.
It's really good. There is a concept to this album ("Hey! I made an album!"), there's humor behind it ("Skit", "Number One Spot"), the music is great, killer rhymes. Child of the Night, I gave that one an instant 100 rating, which I don't normally do for songs the first time I hear them.
Red Light District made me want to listen to other Ludacris albums, which is as good a definition of a successful album as any.
