Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 9% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 75.1/100, a mean average of 74.7/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 75.7/100. The standard deviation for this album is 12.8.

murky, overlong and completely out of focus. there are some good tracks on here like "stardust remedy", but they're few and far between. you're not missing much if you skip it
Not so much a misfire, but it is a slightly underwhelming, murky & overlong record from JAMC whose trajectory has been in decline ever since they released their excellent debut "Psychocandy". "Munki" contains the usual alt-rock/noise-pop that we've come to know and love from JAMC, but something's notably missing. The lyrics no longer captivate ("McDonalds is shit, Burger King is hip..?") and throughout, the record sounds a bit flat... however it still contains a handful of impressive tracks like "Stardust Remedy". Worth a listen, just don't expect it to blow your mind.
By this stage JAMC had completely lost the plot and TBH this album should never have been released . Its a complete Dumpster Fire and easily JAMC worst album . The fact I am the first to post a comment about MUNKI pretty much says it all . Woof !
