Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 71.8/100, a mean average of 70.4/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 71.6/100. The standard deviation for this album is 13.2.

They've pretty much gone full pop with this album. I thought at first that I would hate it, but I have to say I enjoyed it. It's not exactly my cup of tea and I much preferred their earlier stuff but it's undeniably catchy and still displays some of the best attributes of their earlier work. No real weak tracks apart from the last one possibly. My favourites are Teletype and Jennifer.
“Raw Data Feel” comes with a bounce. The instrumentals are flighty electronics built on anxious energy. “CUT UP!” has a particularly swift synth line that gives the chorus a needed push. The lyrics are thematically cohesive and reinforcing. Little details of imagery or character are placed throughout each song, connecting them together. My personal favorite is the ubiquitous “Kevin”, representing a more naïve and younger version of the vocalist. Despite these strengths, every track is limited by one thing; the vocals. The entire album is sung in a strange flatness. It feels as if it’s unsuccessfully trying to pair a robotic monotone with impassioned speech. It dilutes every line, hiding the references and word play behind its spill. An instrumental version would have been greater at no fault to the writing.
Wtf people? This album is really really good.
Boring as fuck radio fodder from Everything Everything. Re-Animator showed some promise even if it wore its influences on its sleeve, but this is all the worst bits of Get to Heaven without any of the intrigue and the new addition of clean guitar riffs with early 2010s tremelo. As my partner said of it: “that sounds like something you’d hear in H&M.”
