Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).

21 in common, well done for putting your favourites in and not going for 'clever' picks! It's uneven and contains too many Muse albums for me, but this is what a chart should be, (not crassly manipulated like that recent Rolling Stone top 500).

Wow, our 2000s/2010s favorites are very closely aligned. I love seeing a chart with Muse on top! Gonna have to check out all of your Danish album picks. Gonna have to check out Avenged Sevenfold again, haven't listened to them in years.

Love this chart! This is what my top 100 would've looked like around five years ago. Appreciate the A7x being so highly ranked & I totally agree that Drones isn't anywhere near as bad as people say it is :)

Doesn't help that I'm not really into Muse's heavy-handed musicianship (which I can appreciate at times, but I do get overwhelmed by the EPICNESS pretty quickly). Some picks in here, to be sure, but nothing terribly original, I guess.
