Her initial mistake and why she ultimately pulled the shorter stroke than Madonna was her not expressing her femininity as much as Madonna or Kate Bush. Looking at the cover I had hope that she might have learnt. But instead what I got was "She's So Unusual" lite. Maybe it's just not in her.
