Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 71.3/100, a mean average of 70.9/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 70.9/100. The standard deviation for this album is 12.9.

Beautifully introspective and lyrical. What makes the CD
for me is not so much the hits that made them famous; rather, its tracks like "To love me more" and "When midnight sighs" that make this so unforgettable.
i could argue "the bliss album" as one of the best rap albums ever. Sure, it's not racially confrontational like an NWA or 2pac album, and de la soul helped mine the territory before p.m. dawn came along, but they do the philosophical, introspective thing so well on this and their debut album, that it proved tough for them to top. They also had some interesting pop guests like boy george, george michael and cathy dennis, along with a beatles cover. you might know it for the "i'd die without you" boomerang soundtrack ballad, but that song embodies the cheesy end of the musical spectrum that p.m. dawn rarely visited on bliss. Most often they flip some lyrics that are both insightful and obtuse at the same time, like "If and betting on an if, and if that if might have a chance to survive. / It runs in to twelve different ways of existing each with capacity to change its mind. / The vibe says six, so be six, now it has a clone that is a bit more feminine. / Pondering the paces of what's going down....life. And the greeting is, Oh..its you again." or on "the ways of the wind" where holding on to love is "Like holding on to a nova star". They took some heat for the amount of rapping on their debut, so the prince be rapping is tempered a bit, but we're still hit with gems like "nocturnal is in the house" and "plastic".
