Best noise rock alternative rock grunge album of the year
"I miss the comfort in being sad"
Nirvana's 3rd studio album could easily have been their best if they hadn't already made one of the best albums by anyone ever in Nevermind. Refusing to cash in on that success with a radio friendly unit shifter this is a great uncomprimising mix of their grunge and pop sensibilities.
10/10 songs: All Apologies, Frances Farmer Will Have Her Revenge On Seattle, Heart-Shaped Box. Other favourites are Dumb, and Milk It. [First added to this chart: 07/23/2017]

Be a nothing anymore"
An unfairly maligned album...or maybe a matter of timing. As a debut album purchased at the time based on the stunning Creep I loved this album and still do...however I can see that if you were listening to this album for the first time now after hearing OK Computer, A Moon Shaped Pool, In Rainbows, The Bends, and Kid A it might be underwhelming.
10/10 tracks: Creep, & Stop Whispering....Anyone Can Play Guitar, and Blow Out are also highlights. [First added to this chart: 07/23/2017]
