I purchased this album on the promise of 2 Paul Westerberg compositions, never being a true dyed in the wool Glen Campbell fan. Upon first listen, not only was I impressed with the Westerberg tunes, but in the overall cohesive nature of the album in its entirety. As reflected in the liner notes written by Campbell himself, the album is put together to be a reflection of the many segments of Campbell's life as his swan song from the recording industry as a result of his diagnosis with Alzheimer's Disease. It packs a wallop.

Glen Campbell has always been serviceable as a singles artist, but it's been hard to get jazzed about his albums in their entirety -- until this one. Designed to be Glen's swan song following his Alzheimer's diagnosis, this pseudo-concept album holds together well as a through-and-through listen. While some cuts stand alone well, this one is best when taken in its totality. If you know Glen's story, this album is utterly compelling.
