Mostly strong performances of an uneven collection of songs.

At his peak, Otis Redding was the greatest soul singer of all time. It's absolutely incredible to listen to the richness and breadth of his discography and remember that he died in a plane crash at age 26. Complete and Unbelieveable is the best of his albums; the only thing in my opinion that could have been better about it would have been fewer covers and more of Redding's own compositions. I'd much rather hear more tunes in the vein of "Fa-Fa-Fa-Fa-Fa (Sad Song)" than listen to his cover of "Day Tripper." A fantastic album nonetheless, with some of the greatest soul singing you'll ever hear.
An enjoyable and gritty soul album from Otis Redding. Some fine originals and some decent cover versions make this a very good, if not quite great, album.
That voice, that soul. It doesn't get much better than this.
