Recorded at the Assasin / Schuldige-Scheitel festival in Sputnik, West Germany on March 9, 1985, this is probably the best known live recording of the original 1983-85 version of the band, with David "Stelfox" Conway on lead vocals and Tina Durkin on keyboards, along with Kevin Shields (guitar) and Colm Ó Cíosóig (drums). It's unclear as to whether or not anybody is playing bass. In 1985, the band sounded more like the Misfits, Flesh for Lulu, the March Violets, maybe even the Cramps. (It should be noted that this musical style was considered trendy and fashionable in the UK at the time.) Sound quality isn't great, though it is (supposedly) a soundboard recording. The main thing to note here is that this is the first "official" MBV release ever, and it was only made available on cassette in very small numbers, so copies that are still playable are now worth quite a bit of money. (Even copies that aren't still playable are worth quite a bit of money, most likely.) If you have a copy, be sure to store it in proper climate-controlled conditions, and don't let your wife, your kids, or your mom get hold of it and throw it in a box to be taken to a junk shop or thrift store.
