Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 2% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 79.4/100, a mean average of 78.8/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 79.5/100. The standard deviation for this album is 13.4.

Thought this might be a one-hit wonder with Everybody Wants To Rule The World, but I was pleasantly surprised. A really nice album, atmospheric and unmistakeably 80s. Other standout tracks are The Working Hour and Head Over Heels.

One of the best pop albums ever made. Beautiful lyrics, stylish 80s sounds. And fantastic vocal art. Head Over Heels is one of the most beautiful pop bangers there is.

Superb synth-pop album, high points are really high and low points aren't that low.
Shout is a great explosive way to start an album, The Working Hour is smooth, jazzy, well-crafted pop song, Everybody Wants To Rule The World is great thoughtful lyrics mixed with catchy melody and fantastic production. I also like Broken and Head Over Heels is great romantic song. I Believe and Listen are both a bit boring and too long, but overall I love this album.

The hits were good, the rest is ok at best and the closing track drags on a bit

This has some standout tracks (3 pieces). With some concentration and a couple of better songs, this could have been a GREAT album.
