This is the second collaborative album between Japan's Takashi Hirayusa and American Bob Brozman, following their debut recording together "Jin Jin / Firefly." HIrayusa takes the vocal duties here in addition to providing the colours of his Shanshin playing, while Brozman provides Slide Guitar , Charango, and Lap Steel Guitar instrumentation. The duo is filled out by guest musicians like David Hildalgo from Los Lobos, drummer Rick Walker and bassist Piper Heisig. The music winds it's way from traditional Japanese Min' yo, to Hawaiian, to rock, blues and folk and back to world music. Released in 2001 on Riverboat Records / World Music Network (Cat#: TUG0123) this nine song album continues the fine performances this duo displayed on their initial offering. A lot of hard work happens in the background to keep BEA running, and it's especially difficult to do this when we can't pay our hosting fees :(
