Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 70.5/100, a mean average of 69.4/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 69.4/100. The standard deviation for this album is 8.4.

The fourth of five great albums in a row, next up was their masterpiece Moontan. Unfortunately they followed that up with Switch, and lost all their momentum. Then came two more great albums Contraband and To The Hilt before they gradually declined into mediocrity. Seven great albums from one artist (or eight if you include the live album from 1977) is a record that not many can match.
Best Golden Earring album in my opinion with the band being at their creative peak (yes I know Radar Love was still to come) and they won't record another album like this again.
Best track: Thousand Feet Below You
Together was released 1 year prior to Moontan. What a difference a year makes. The quality of the songs are there (albeit much shorter and less progressive) but in production terms, it sounds like this band is still playing in the 1st Division. Perhaps it was the international success of their single Buddy Joe as well as supporting The Who in Europe that got them into the Premier division. A real gem! Favourite tracks: All Day Watcher, Buddy Joe, From Heaven From Hell and 1000 Feet Below.
