"The Heat Can Melt Your Brain" was good but became lost amongst other more compelling albums of 2004. i still gave "yr blood" a shot first through "We Do Not Fuck Around" and was disappointed. The song felt like it had a long story arch without telling an interesting tale. So i forgot about 'em until hearing "From the Devil Himself" and delved further. i'm glad i did. It's been dubbed "stoner rock" but i more hear lack-of-stoner 70s rock, prog and washes of current indie pop. i hear a little Queen and Sonic Youth and maybe a little blur. It can feel psychedelically thoughtful, but not in a Flaming Lips -sorta way. In an album context, i appreciate "Fuck Around" a lot more now, as i now do Viva Voce.
