After a string of record label disappointments VoL decided to mix things up a little and incorporated some Brit Pop sound into their American roots rock. It didn't always work but it was nice to hear them try something new. Unfortunately it would up being the last album the band would make. After this album Bill Mallonee decided to step out from behind the VoL name and put records out under his own name.
