Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 1% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 80.4/100, a mean average of 80.2/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 80.7/100. The standard deviation for this album is 14.2.

Lemmy war right. They are a rock n roll band. I do not hear the grandiosity of metal, but rather the carpe diem and simplicity of hard-rock with the rawness and attitude of punk. Their statement, and a great one, but also feels like their only one.

One of the early albums, first with the classic 3 amigos. Hard and heavy but they were still finding there way and sound. Lot of great songs but personally I prefer what they did after this. This is the blueprint of what they were to become.

Best Motorhead album in my opinion, from the opening tracks fast double bass drum and bass driving rhythm foundation to the more 'melodic' Capricorn and 'Metropolis'. Tracks like Overkill and No Class deliver raw riffery like a pile driver through granite! Tracks like Damage Case and Metropolis serve up a good measure of splintering guitar soloing which at times make you wonder how such a big sound can come from three instruments. Arguably Lemmy's vocals are an acquired taste, his delivery sounding like he has garbled with hot desert sand and washed his mouth out with TCP! That said, when in the right mood to listen to this album, I thoroughly enjoy it. Personal favourite is Metropolis.

Absolute ass kicker. Best Motorhead album, and a great HARD ROCK album. Full of great tracks, attitude, and badass-ery from Lemmy.

Add two tracks; 'Motorhead' and 'Ace of Spades' and you have The Best of Motorhead. Maybe 'I Got Mine' as well.

In fact this may be the first metal album... Black Sabbath was bluesy doom metal or something, Judas Priest still had elements of prog and classic rock, Led Zeppelin, Rainbow and Deep Purple aren't REALLY metal, but this fast paces monster may be the first fast and loud metal album. Well just my opinion
