It's not good album

Taken on it's own this album stands up fine as a contemporary pop/rock album. Those disappointed that Nickelback are no longer a post grunge outfit mark it down badly. Bands can either keep to their style and get slammed for producing nothing new, or evolve and get accused of going off the boil. Points are also lost for becoming more popular.....
After Dark Horse, even Nickelback realized they have mined the same vein for far too long.
So 1/2 star here for attempting to sound different or evolving.
1/2 star for sheer impressiveness that a band this set in it's ways has even lasted this long.
Unfortunately, Here and Now lacks decent musical skill on the instruments or any semblance of rock melody sensibilities.
So that's about it and I would think the end of a band that as all the reasons it needs to hang up the instruments. And high five each other for how much money they have made on the long road to turning garbage into gold

I think "Silver Side Up" has some decent rock songs but here the rockers have degenerated into plain shit. That said, as a country/bubblegum-pop artist (??), I think Nickelback actually reached their peak here, with some of the songs at the end.
