I'll tell you what "Beautiful Future" is... a solid pop-rock album. Yes, it could have sounded much darker and more interesting, but it succeeds in being catchy and simply a lot of fun, well more than the middling "Riot City Blues" anyway. If you can get past Gillespie's sometimes preachy nature then it's definitely worth checking out.
