"Let the Night Last Forever" is an album by the Belgian composer Walter Christian Rothe, originally released in 1985 on the Archipel label, and re-released in 2016 on Groove Unlimited with two bonus tracks. Walter Christian Rothe lived in Brussels when he created this album. The music is a kind of ode to the night and the urban atmosphere, with a mix of romance and the loneliness of the early hours. The album itself consists of nine parts and is perceived as a sound story, where the mood constantly changes — from dramatic and gloomy episodes to lyrical and almost fragile moments. The album is classified as electronic music with a strong influence of ambient, dark wave and the synth scene of the 1980s. It is noticeable in the influence of Vangelis — especially in the orchestral layers, atmospheric textures and cinematic presentation. Some tracks have received additional recognition: Sahara, for example, was used in the Belgian film C4.
