Ci fu un tempo, molti anni prima che i suoi dischi diventassero quasi tutti noiosi, in cui Van Morrison era inarrivabile. Tipo in questo doppio live che è uno dei migliori dischi dal vivo di sempre e di chiunque, in cui il suo r&b bianco raggiunge livelli massimi irrobustito da una ritmica potente, con i fiati a pompare soul ed una elettrica a dare un taglio più rock qua e là. STELLARE.

A great performer at the peak of his powers and already loaded with a great song catalog.
One of the great live albums. Soulful, powerful, and energetic, it's a superb record. Certainly in my top three live LP's ever. Extremely enjoyable.
Best live album ever!
The best live album of all time (alongside to "Live at Harlem Square"- Sam Cooke; "At Folsom Prison"- Johnny Cash; "Live At The Apollo"- James Brown; "In person"- Ray Charles; "At Fillmore East"- The Allman Brothers Band. Morrison at his vocal peak in standouts redings of "Caravan", "Listen To The Lion", "Cypress Avenue"....
The Caledonia Soul Orchestra (with special mentions to Jeff Labes and Jack Schroer) is the most extraordinary band ever, with an incredible interaction between strings and horns. An absolute masterpiece.
