Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some artists can have several thousand ratings)
This artist is rated in the top 1% of all artists on BestEverAlbums.com. This artist has a Bayesian average rating of 83.1/100, a mean average of 82.1/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 83.5/100. The standard deviation for this artist is 15.8.

He was 23 when he released Astral Weeks, just mind blowing!
With Bob Dylan, the giant of singer-songwriters of all-time. His creative period between 1968-1974 stay in level of sacred monsters like Hammett, Hitchcock, Ford, Renoir......Unsurpassed and classic.
estoy esperando un disco malo, pero todavía no llega, ojalá que nunca suceda eso. Van the MAN!!

This list makes me realize I do not know Veedon Fleece well enough. My top four would be: Astral Weeks, Moondance, Tupelo Honey and Into the Music. Carry on voting for your own fave, though, the man has made some amazing albums.... 80's stuff like Poetic Champions and Enlightenment was just fine, too.

Took a while to get into him...but i now think he is outstanding. Excellent in the 60's,70's and 80's...but still producing quality to this day.
