Good album but it gets kind of repetitive after a while
A much less consistent album than, astral weeks, or, moondance. Any of the tracks on this album would have been filler on those majestic records. Still, it's an enjoyable LP, with, domino, blue money, and, gypsy queen, some of the standouts, although in truth there's nothing spectacular here. Just a good competent album. Nothing more, nothing less.

Overshadowed by Moondance, and for good reason. This is an OK album, but nowhere near on par with the release from earlier in the same year.

Domino is one of the five greatest VM songs ever. Call me up in Dreamland and Blue Money are super-celebratory sing alongs. Not Van's best but not to be missed.
This album in specific influenced Bruce a lot, just listen to the beginning of the record and compare with the beginning of the wild the innocent...favourite track is i'll be your lover too.
