Oof, that's more like it! This is the best EC has sounded in years. The title track is vicious, with some wonderful guitar and vocal work. Jimmie Standing in the Rain is a unique song in Costello's catalogue, some other good songs too. I'll admit I have not fully assimilated this album yet. But my impression was very positive.
National ransom, confirms that Elvis Costello can still write excellent songs and still have a lot to say. Up there with his best records of the last twenty years.
