Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album has a Bayesian average rating of 73.1/100, a mean average of 71.7/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 73.2/100. The standard deviation for this album is 16.8.

While Presto isn’t one of the band’s most triumphant records, it’s proof that even lower tiered Rush records are worth the listen and have their share of highlights.

The band tries their hand with ideas not usually associated with their core sound like funk grooves, tribal drum patterns, and softer ballads to varying degrees of success. While Presto doesn’t have the crisp production of Moving Pictures or the auditory immediacy of Permanent Waves, songs like The Pass and Available Light hold their own in the band’s extensive catalog.

This is the only Rush album I can recall a piano patch being used on some tracks, I like it, in fact I do like the Rush slower, lighter moments. Often overlooked album, me included as I hadn't played it for years until today.

Like 'Grace Under Pressure,' this album is somewhat marred by its sound/production. It is also not quite as consistent as better Rush albums, but has its moments. Geddy's bass work on the opening track alone is worth the price of the CD, and my personal favorite is the unheralded 'Hand Over Fist.'

This album is one of the most underrated rock albums ever, yet it is one of the band's (Rush)favorite album and mine too.

I'll agree with the previous comment. "The Pass" is definitely one of the highlights from Rush's career.

Definitely Rush's best, and the only one of their albums I ever feel like listening to anymore.
