The back half is much better than the top half. The voice contradicts with the orchestral nature of the music at points, but the lyrics definitely make up for it. I'm a fan.

I’m surprised I was the first to add this album. The band is comprised of the three main members of Sunny Day Real Estate, and, though it amounted to a side project, the music is dramatic and heartfelt, and as good as any SDRE record. Fire Theft tends to be more layered and orchestrated than SDRE, but it’s not radically different from their sound. Best songs: “Heaven,” “Carry You” (not listed here), “It's Over,” “Summertime” and the extended “Sinatra.” One of the best records of the decade. This should be on some lists.
