One of his lesser-respected works has a superb lineup and a collection of cool and thematically/tonally varied songs. His trumpet work is as brilliant as ever and combo offers huge support. Recommended. PLS add this album to your charts, it deserves that!
Highlight: Blue Spirits&Soul Surge

Not as acclaimed as other early albums like Open Sesame or Ready for Freddie, this is actually a more diverse and more compelling album overall. This is Freddie at his early peak as he begins to hint at the transition from hard bop to post bog.
