A bold album that skillfully mixes hard bop and free jazz. 9/10!
Excellent background music. The kind you can listen to all day.

The most famous mid 60's jazz album is also a good introduction to the jazz music of the era and the music itself.
This album never goes out of fashion. I bet that many college students had this album among their Beatles and Stones Records. PS Listen to Freddie Hubbard in Dolphin Dance. What moods, what vibes. Unforgettable
Hearkening back to the quick-moving bebop jazz of the 50s, this record has some swiftness to it! Hancock is great on piano, but I think the highlight of the entire album is Fred Hubbard on trumpet. He threw everything he had at this album and it pretty much all stuck.

Herbie has a few seminal classics, and this is the best of the bunch. The title cut is rightfully one of the all time great jazz epics. The album is enhanced in no small way buy the wonderful trumpet of Freddie Hubbard.

Another nice album from the great Herbie. Nothing I find too challenging or innovative, but a good listen nonetheless
Possibly Herbie Hancock's best 'jazz' album. It's a beautiful run of tunes with the title track my favourite with, dolphin dance, and, survival of the fittest, also highlights. Nice stuff.
Breezy beauty, truly a maiden voyage (or a voyage of maidens). With a similar spirit to Kind of Blue, but going further, with even higher highs.
Very good album!
