I understand that TMBG aren't for everyone. People who think Britney Spears and Lady Gaga are great pop, won't BEGIN to get it. People who think Poison and Slip Knot are classic Rock won't get it. But there is a niche for this kind of acid-soaked, lyrical trip music that makes almost all other music seem bland.

These guys should write kids books, not music.
There are many fragments of experimental noodling and joke songs on this album that contribute nothing. However, there are also at least seven brilliant pop melodies.
"Everything Right is Wrong Again", "Put Your Hand Inside the Puppet Head", "Don't Let's Start", "32 Footsteps", "Nothing's Gonna Change My Clothes", "She's an Angel", and "Rhythm Section Want Ad" are basically flawless and deserve to be heard by everyone on Earth.

This is more than a gorgeous collection of wonderful choruses, this is vaudeville in the post-punk era, this is The Residents in the world of alternative pop, cabaret songs for demential grotesque cartoons. These dynamic, crazy, irreverent music pills have nothing to envy to underground rock heroes. Maybe TMBG were just so great in writing perfect happy melodies that the sense of this album was misunderstood.
