Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 11% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 74.8/100, a mean average of 76.1/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 76.1/100. The standard deviation for this album is 8.6.

I do love this album, but with the release of the Original Master Tape Edition in 2020, the choice of mixes and the album's sequencing seem even more perplexing.
I've got nothing against lengthy songs (the 16-minute "Hitler as Kalki" is a high point from Thunder Perfect Mind), but I've always felt the title track never quite justified its 24-minute runtime. To have it fade out into another almost identical track distinguished only by additional lyrics ("The God of Sleep Has His House") also seemed a bizarre choice, and to see that older versions of "Sleep Has His House" incorporated those lyrics makes far more sense. Not to mention that the first half of "The Magical Bird..." reuses "Love's Young Dream" as an instrumental, when we only just heard it three and a half minutes ago.
My preferred iteration of the album cuts the opening and closing tracks, and replaces the title track with its Original Master Tape Edition version. I'd be curious to hear other people's thoughts.
