Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 3% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 77.3/100, a mean average of 75.8/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 77.5/100. The standard deviation for this album is 16.4.

Leftfield had already been around the progressive house block for a while upon the release of this LP but they brought their best work to bear here. There isn't a dull moment on the album and every track has something to set it apart from the rest of the album, whether the chilled dub bass of Release The Pressure, the whizzes and pops of Black Flute or John Lydon's vocals on Open Up. I will never get tired of listening to this album. Outstanding.

I think that I could have a good party with this album.. Partee....

An impressive collection of beats. I confess that I don't understand dance music or club culture whatsoever, but as Leftism managed to make it accessible and enjoyable to even a simpleton such as myself, that's got to be worth something!
Favorite Songs:Black Flute
Picked up this album in 2018 and totally surprised with it - don't know what I was expecting but it has beats, reggae dub, hypnotic thumping tracks with excellent guest vocals - including Sex Pistol Johnny Rotten. A delight of an album

It's albums like this that make me wish I liked dance music. Original is the best track.
Wow - don't know this album well but have just got it Aug 18 and I love the mix of dub, dance, reggae, ambient - whatever!
Many more listens are due.
I keep coming back to this one. Its simply class.
several tracks appear in my top 100 listened I-tunes play count ranking. Highly recommend giving it a go.
This is my favourite album of all time. I first heard it on its release in 1995, and was immediately enraptured by its moody feel. It soundtracked many hours of Doom, and became rooted in my psyche over the subsequent years. My love for it has only grown, and it eventually overtook Jean-Michel Jarre's Equinoxe as my favourite album. Every listen is a revelation. I could speak of the melding of house, dub and ambient, but will satisfy myself with simply saying that this is as close to a perfect album as I can see me finding.
Great, great dance record - impossible not to get you going. Discovered "Inspection" and had to investigate the total album. Very pleasantly surprised!
