The album has some edge. As a singer; Graham Bonnets vocals tend to be uncontrolled partly because he never had any formal training and refused to get any. He was fired from the band shortly after this release for being drunk onstage and exposing himself. His tenure w/ Rainbow was short lived as well. A pattern was beginning to form with his restless career.
The best of the early MSG records (possibly the best ever). Quite a departure from the style of the earlier records and the first with a quality vocalist (apologies to Gary Barden) in Graeme Bonnett. A rock solid rhythm section of Chris Glenn and Ted McKenna (the late great Cozy Powell was not missed here) provides a great base for Mad Mikey's frenetic fretwork. Check out Ulcer in particular - Samauri and Desert Song are also strong listens.
