Her voice is so strong and weak at the same time. I love it.
The song are not that great - so I think it`s just an avarage album.
My favourite songs: Marathon Man, For Wanting You, Tower Of Song.
If you are a fan of Marianne Faithfull's early Island albums, there will undoubtedly be something of interest on this album too. Generally, there is something dark and gloomy over the album, and not all songs appear that memorable. However, there is enough solid material that justifies calling the album reasonably successful.
Strongest in the picture are the more melodic songs such as "Electra", "Wilder Shores of Love" and "Great Expectations". In a class by itself, however, is the Leonard Cohen song "Tower of Song" - a fantastic song which Faithfull's interpretation provides full justice.
Interestingly, of course, is the obscure Roger Waters song "Incarnation of a Flower Child"
