I have to say, I’ve looked just about everywhere and I can’t find too much on Fossil Collective. Even websites like Wikipedia and Pitchfork have no references to them, and both of them usually have something on just about any band you can think of. It’s unfortunate, because Fossil Collective have a really solid album here. At first, it made me think of Fleet Foxes, though it is different from them. Similar in the reverbed vocals and folk sound, but different in that Fossil Collective is a bit more upbeat and rock-centered than Fleet Foxes are. Still folk, but more folk-rock than anything. This album is very solid, both lyrically and musically, and is pretty enjoyable to listen to.
